Excellent well made US manufactured product. Channellock does not disappoint.
Bought these for home shop. I have another pair of channellock welpers at work that are almost 10 years old. They still cut MIG/TIG wire like they're 10 days old, and they get used daily. MADE IN USA. Don't buy some cheap China welpers. I promise you, these are worth the money.
I work on robotic welders and material handlers and use this type of pliers changing nozzles, tips, diffusers, fittings and sensors all day long. For all those tasks these pliers work great. The length and code blue grips give great leverage and comfort. The design of the scraper works very well for cleaning out nozzles. The design of the jaws grips better than most of this style of pliers that I've used in the past. The flaw is the wire cutter. When using these on .25, .35 or .45 wire, they do not cleanly cut all the way. After cutting, I have to tap the wire, or grab it to pull the cut end off.I have used both this and the regular Channellock model, both have had the issue with the wire cutter.
I am a production welder of 15+ years, and I put these through thousands of hours of work a year. They last about 2-3 years each, while lesser models/brands only last a few months. They cut SS wire, carbon steel, or steel banding like butter! (Even though they are not snips, I know). They are WELL worth the investment.
Tight firm action. Quality comfortable grips. The steel is holding its edge just like new after several months.
