They should not have quit making these.
The long handles and thinner jaws are great for the high-leverage crimping of S-hooks to chain! The jaws fit right in to even smaller chain and S-hooks, and one hand operation is easy due to the handle length.
Can’t say enough good things about the 444’s they are incredible. So much more versatile than 440’s The last pair of 444 lasted me over 10 years . The only reason for a new pair is because I was using them to crank off a 2” rigid coupling and over did it and broke the jaw . That’s my fault not the pliers !!
Something I didn't realize would be so useful. You can get into way more places that would be difficult to access with normal size channellock pliers
