This is a review of the CHANNELLOCK® professional 24-inch box level, Model 5200-0024. It is labeled “Limited Lifetime Warranty” and clearly built to last. The frame is solid precision-milled aluminum. Impact protection is enhanced by non-removable rubber shock-absorbing end caps. This level has three vials positioned at 0° (level), 45°, and 90° (plumb). The 0° leveling vial is viewable from the sides and the top. The leveling vial has two sets of rings. Centering the bubble between the inner rings provides exact leveling. Aligning the bubble with the outer rings provides a repeatable 2% slope for drainage layouts. The frame has an opening for carrying the level while wearing work gloves, a useful feature. CHANNELLOCK states that this level is accurate to 0.0005 in./in. tolerance in ten working positions. While I could not verify that exact measurement, I performed simple checks by leveling each vial and then rotating the frame 180 degrees to confirm consistent readings in both directions. In every case, the vials appeared accurate. I recommend this level. The country of origin is not labeled on the product itself, but it appears in fine print next to the barcode on a cardboard tag.
