Solid handles are pressed on tightly with no rattling after striking. They do have steel striking caps on the end and are nicely sized for larger hands. Black oxide coating on a carbon steel shaft. They're finished pretty well but check the prying tip before using to pry more delicate things you don't want getting scratched or marred, you may have to lightly file down a bump or small lip on the steel. Nothing bad though. They're made pretty well in the USA.
I really like this pry bar, I prefer the hard handle as they're much easier to keep clean. I LOVE that Channellock is putting out some USA made tools at a reasonable price. I've now been using it for a few months and have not had any complaints, it seems to be just as well built and sturdy as my Mac and Snap On pry bars.
Title says it all. No other brand has the track record of reliable constantly good quality for the money.
